Hi,
We use the Square stand with a 5th generation iPad (9.70-inch display, iPadOS 16.6) and after we updated Square app to the last version, 6.25, after we press the Charge button the reader disconnects and reconnects for like 3 times in a row before it actually works. Before yesterday's update we never had such problem. Of course it's extremely annoying because it means that the customer has to wait 15-20" before they can actually pay.
Any suggestion? Are we the only ones with this kind of problem?

This is actually a known issue that we discovered yesterday on Point of Sale version 6.24. Our engineers are currently working towards a fix and you can monitor the progress here on our Status Page. As a workaround for the time being, you can connect the Contactless + Chip Reader to the Stand via Bluetooth in the Point of Sale app.

I made a working solution but there might be easier way. Actually I tried everything even unpairing it from my own Bluetooth on and off etc but what actually worked for our two square readers was uninstalling square from my phone and reinstalling it and that finally released the problem now I have an Android and my wife has an apple and the same issue existed on both phones I uninstalled it on her phone reinstalled it and everything worked so far since then. Perhaps the way to go in and clear the cache might work? It happens again that's what I'll do
