Is there a simple and easy way to start accepthng credit cards?

I set up my square account yesterday, and I would like some help on how to get started.
Background, I am a chiropractor, and I never accepted credit cards. I am going to stop accepting all insurance plans, and only accept cash, checks, and credit cards through square. I am semi retired, and I have a low volume practice. I only need the most basic square plan available. I just want to offer my patients a convenient way to pay their fees for my services. Welcome to the Square community forum.

With Square for Low volume you could just download the Square App on you cell phone or a Tablet.

Log in to you Square account through the app.

Then if you have your Services defined, you could select the service to your Cart.

Tap Charge.

This will take you to the next screen where you can type in a Cash payment, tap a Predefinned $ amout.

If you enable Tap to Pay on your Android payments/tap-to-pay-android or Apple cell Apple tap-to-pay a customer could also Tap on your phone to pay you.

You could also order a Bluetooth Reader so a customer can Tap or insert Chip cards.  If the customer only has the older Magnetic Swipe cards, you could order a Swiper reader or get the first one free.  Just beaware that newer phones do not have Headphone ports for androids to insert the Swipe reader.

You could also order any of the Square POS systems if you would like.

For my business I use the Square Stand stand , with Receipt printer and a Cash Drawer.  The Square Stand uses an Ipad and then it connects to an outlet to keep the Ipad charged.  And also has a USB power bric attached to connect a receipt Printer, Cash Drawer and a 3rd usb port for another device.

For size you may want to look into a handheld Terminal terminal .  It accepts all three types of Credit Cards and can print out the receipt in the palm of your hand.  The Terminal would need a WiFi connection to connect to the internet to validate the card.  All Square POS systems need to access the internet either by WiFi, Network cable or through a Cell signal to verify the card.  So if your location already has Wifi any Square POS system or Cell phone would be fine for you.  Its just depends on what you need and want to spend on Hardware.

The only Device I did not mention is the Register register.     This might be over kill for a semiretird business but then it also works for your needs and may look more professional at a checkout location in your office.

All Square Hardware works with Square Apps to take Credit Card payments similarly.  So may just starting on a Tablet or Cell phone is a good way to see which hardware you may want to assist you.
