How use Cash Drawer Management with a Manual Cash Drawer (No USB Connection, Key Open Only)

We have a cash drawer that doesn't connect to a Receipt Printer, Computer, or other device of any kind. In order to open it a key is required. We use Square for online payments and card payments. However, we want to use it to track cash payments as well. I found this article on Cash Drawer Management. I can't find a way to utilize this feature without having a Cash Drawer that connects to Square directly. This doesn't make much sense to me because the only benefit to having a cash drawer connected to a POS is that it will automatically open when a receipt created or when it is told to open in the app. It isn't like it actively counts how much cash is in the drawer. I want to be able to balance the drawer at the end of each day in Square and I can't seem to get it to work. I also saw this old thread where someone was able to do this... however, that might have only been possible 3 years ago.

@critchey ;

I am not sure how I did it but my Cash Drawer Management is on.  But in Hardware I have no Cash Drawer visible.  My Cash Drawer is connected to my Printer.

The biggest thing with my Cash Drawer management is that I enter a starting Cash Drawer Amount and when I close the Drawer I enter a closing amount that should be the same as what Square calculates based on Cash payments.  I just followed your links above and that appears to be what I did to setup Cash Drawer Management for me.   So try setting this up and then you should get a message saying Cash Drawer was not started. ( at least I do on a Square Stand)

Let me know if by enabling the Cash Drawer management as you described above works for you.  The only thing is your cash drawer will not automatically open when a cash transaction happens.
