Thanks for reaching out @arda! While it's sad for us to hear you'd go, you can deactivate your Square account directly from Square Dashboard

 

Please keep in mind that once you've closed your account, you won't have access to your payment history. For your records, you may want to download your payment history before deactivating your account (or having us do it).

 

While this goes without saying, Square accounts are free, and you're welcome to create a new one at any time. 😀

I have been unable to deactivate since I signed up. I have a US bank account which I linked, but discovered after sign-up that my country of residence is not supported.

I keep trying to deactivate but it keeps saying unable to deactivate because of failed card whatever...I just want to leave, why won't it let me close the account?

I set up this account today and tried to deactivate and it wont let me! Its saying i was declined for some credit card application. I didnt sign up for anyhting. I want to deactivate!

How can I delete "Appointments" from my Square account- I closed my business I did appointments with and still use Square to sell retail products.  I just want to "remove" the Appointments part- and start fresh with new Appointments.  Please help!

Did you have a subscription to Appointments or just the standard Appointments feature? 

 

Check the settings under Appointments in your Dashboard to turn off your Online Booking, if you're seeing that is still active too.

Hi, how do I get rid of the free website before I deactivate my square account? I have had no services connected, I have not accessed the square site in months, I haven’t published the free site, I deactivated all paid sites, I’ve sent emails, but for some reason square enjoys locating every bank account I’ve ever used (even though they are not connected and they do not have authorization) to charge me 10.80 a month. I’ve been getting robbed with no explanation or even a courtesy response for the last 6 months. I would like to know how to remove them from my life completely, and then wait to see if on this date next month, they continue to take money from any of my accounts without authorization- before I seek legal advice. Thanks!

If you would like to deactivate your Square account, all you need to do is unpublish your website. If you are on a free Square Online plan there should be no reason why you will get charged.

I have tried setting up a quality website using square... I prefer Weebly.com.  I signed up through a weekly.com web address and it switched me over to the Square Platform.  I really really really HATE! this platform.  I have been with Weebly.com for YEARS!!!  PLEASE switch my sign up back to weekly.com BlackAngusTEXAS@gmail.com I did not authorize the switch over.  Thank you. I'm sorry to hear you want to deactivate your account. Before you proceed with the deactivation, I recommend going over this support article for best practices. Then head to your Dashboard:

  1. Go to Settings > Account & Settings 

  2. Click Business information > About my business.

  3. Under "Deactivate your business," click Deactivate your business.

If your Square account is not fully set up and activated, you might not be able to deactivate it on your end. If this happens, please contact our support team by phone on 1-855-700-6000. We'll be able to deactivate it for you.
