Cash App Option for Square Online Checkout

I'm having an issue where the customer wants to purchase one of my products from my Square checkout payment link. (i.e. https://square.link/u/Ff7fvwMN)

 

When attempting to checkout with the Cash App option, the customer was taken to cash app and then was redirected nowhere...

 

My understanding is that Cash App was supposed to send them back to Square to finalize the order...

 

Two questions:

 

1) How can I link my Cash App to my Square account? Both use the same email and phone number. 2) Has anyone done this process and have had success?

Hi @AFROKAH .  From your online dashboard go to Online > Shared Settings > Checkout.  You’ll see a toggle to enable Cash App for your online store, as well as other payment methods you might want to enable.

I've already gotten past this point. My question is where do I add my cash app tag? Because when my customer went to check out with cash app, there process died on the vine and the customer was taken to a blank webpage.

@AFROKAH.  Ah.  Since you didn’t say in your OP that you had already gotten past that point, it seemed a fair assumption that you hadn’t gotten past that point.  Sorry that I guessed wrong.  This sounds like a bug or something amiss in your account internals.  I’m going to tag a Square moderator or three here for them to take a look.

This should “just work” once you have the Cash App toggle on.  You don’t really need a Cash App account for this, since you are receiving cash app funds into your Square Account and it is just part of your normal daily deposit.

You do it here in posts like this. I tagged a few moderators above to make this thread more visible to them.  Since your original post happened on a Friday, and since Square has limited support staff on weekends, they will probably be working through those today.  Stay tuned.  I don’t think this is a bug, really, since Cash App deposits are working for me and I don’t see multiple posts on the subject here in the Community.  If there is something wrong, it is probably just a glitch in your particular account and can be easily resolved.  They might need you to call them to work through it on the phone, however.

Thanks for the tag @TheRealChipA, I'm happy to investigate this further. 

 

As TheRealChipA mentioned once you enable Cash App nothing further needs to be done. Is this happening with just this seller? When I tested this I didn't have an issue @AFROKAH

Yes it was happening just with the seller. They would checkout with cash app, cash app then makes a prompt to go back to finish checkout on square, then it would take him to his web browser app and nothing happens from there.
