Can the self serve tables communicate with the POS table layout to designate a table as occupied?

We are looking to run a hybrid style of service to utilize QR codes at certain tables and sections. In   an effort to not double seat a table from our host stand, can QR code orders mark the table as occupied on the POS layout? The QR code designated table names do not automatically populate with the POS layout. At the moment we have counter service but need a more streamlined service with QR code orders being placed. I have not seen much in the forum regarding this.
