Getting a "We’re sorry, but something went wrong." error message when adding an image to a modifier

Whenever I try to add an image to an existing modifier the save button is grayed out. If I create a new modifier and try to save it without an image it works. If I try to save it with an image I get the pink "We're sorry, but something went wrong" message. I have cleared cache several times but it doesn't help.
