square legacy online site being charged monthly fees by weebly

Hi all. A little over a year ago, Square forced those of us with online stores to migraine to Weebly (which was a huge mess that cost me hundreds of dollars in sales, but that's a different matter). They said at the time that "Legacy" Square online store owners would not be charged by Weebly for their services, as our web stores were a free service offered by Square (they collect all of their percentage and transaction fees as usual). The Legacy online stores have huge drawbacks, including being blocked from linking to any other website whatsoever, even if it's directly related to the Square online store (all social media, youtube, another professional business website, etc., all blocked).


Now Weebly suddenly sent me an email saying my monthly payment is overdue and my site will be unpublished if I don't pay it. I am wondering if anyone else experienced this. I don't remember seeing any warning or communication from Square that this was going to happen.

 

If I am going to pay ~$100 a year for an online store, I would at *least* like to be able to link back to my other social media and professional website pages. Does anyone know if paying this unexplained fee to Weebly will allow us to customize at all, for those of us with the "Legacy" Square online stores?  I could not find any topics related to this in these forums or through the Square online support system.

To get more clarity on what’s going on with the account, please call our Customer Success Team who can look into account specifics.

Thanks Sayra! There is no number for "customer success team" anywhere on either site, where would I find such a number? I've never heard of that. The only contact info Square offers is the customer forums here where other customers answer questions, and the bot that doesn't answer anything.

 

That instagram connection does work on the instagram side yes, but there is nothing for the Square website in the Legacy store. I do have my business insta connected to my store. But Square doesn't allow it to go both ways, the way my website is designed.
