Lately when I go to print a shipping label, the weight isn't saving. So then I have to manually look up the weight of the items to get the total weight. Which makes me wonder what the real time shipping is using to calculate weight if I don't have the total saved? It's not going to the default like it would when it's not available, so something is calculating the weight. I'd really like to just be able to print off the shipping labels and then package everything.

I reached out to the Square Online Team and they've let me know that this is working as intended with the new shipping label flow. However, I've added your feedback to a support ticket that our engineers currently have on their radar.
I'll report back here once more details become available. I appreciate your patience in the meantime 🙏

there are more than a few posts I’ve seen about this. Here and here are two.
Obviously something was overlooked. I’m going to tag @_Violet and see if she can check with the engineering teams to have them shed some light on this, as well as the other issues mentioned in this threads. (As well as merging them. Lol)

This is so messed up! I really hope they don’t plan on killing the old process on the 31st still! I have setup a Shopify store, in preparation for this terrible move. I really don’t want to have to but, adding hours of time to my workflow is unacceptable! Even more so that square is constantly raising the percentage they take on sells lately, especially with the down times Square m have had here lately.

@UncommonBees I think everyone in this thread feels your frustration, which you already stated quite well the first time. It seems you are not alone.
Violet is working on this. We don’t need to keep beating dead horses, here. Violet promised to check on things and get back to us when she has any more information, and she even mentioned that the engineers have other feedback on this change, so obviously it is being looked at. If you feel the need to start setting up something else, I’m glad you are doing it and I wish you well with your new Shopify store. But repeating that is not going to make the process go any quicker.

I have been told 3 times they would get back to me on this. With nothing. My phone calls get hallow platitudes, and support tickets are useless. They just don’t seam to care: this is horse is far from dead. I will message daily if needed, as the 31st is just days away.

Hi there, @sugarlab - I'll reach out to the Square Online Team to see if there is any context they can offer but ultimately, this may need to go through our Support Team so they can grab examples and create a support ticket.

Hi,
Since a few weeks, Square changed the shipping label in the ecommerce shop. I had many bugs ad problems while the change but now it works.
My only problem now is the weight is not automatically calculated now when I wand to print the label. I have to calculate and enter it manually...
Why ?
I searched everywhere for an option, but I don't find anything. All my items in my shop have a weight. It works perfectly before the change.
Can you help me ?

I was unable to add the picture in my post. I did a screenshot... This is how it looks and the first line "Add package detail" and it says "Total weight" and I have to enter manually. I don't know why.

PLEASE HELP!!! The shipping process is TERRIBLE!!! I have been with Square for years, and this is the worst change to date! We can ship 100 plus packages per week, and if we have to move to the new process it will increase our in house shipping time by hours! There is no option to bulk ship, weights are not automatically imported and the over all process is slow, having to go through multiple useless screens before we can even ship.
Why has there been such a huge change that makes the process harder not easier? Is there any way to keep the shipping through the online site, until these issues are resolved?
I have been through a lot with square, major outages, upgrade issues, and have stuck through it. But to take my shipping time from 15-20 minutes up to hours, is unacceptable, and to be honest a deal breaker. Shopify here it come!
I know I can't be the only one experiencing this? And to be honest, with squares response to the past two outages, I doubt I will hear anything from them.
Anyone else have any ideas?

Hello,
The new process of creating a shipping label has added several clicks, making this process much slower than the old method (Which is why I chose Square Online).
Now, the items weights are not even automatically being added, making my warehouse staff have to stop and look up the weights!
The whole process is terrible!

We appreciate you continuing to let us know what you need and hope this solution gets you back to normal operating processes.
If you are listening, why have you taken away the bulk ship option? your service has gone down for the past two weekends, causing us loss of sales, you are raising the rates to process invoices, and you are lowering the services offered. So where is the help?

Hi there! The new Shipment Manager is intended to unify shipping across channels, so we had to build it new. This will ultimately help you process all shipping orders - from online, from invoices, and any other channels you use - in one place! Because each feature takes time to define, build and test, we can't respond with all requested features at once. We are currently looking at bulk shipping and plan to deliver that in 2024. I hear you that this is an important part of your business operations, and you are actually in a small group that has retained access to the existing label purchase flow with bulk label purchase, so you will be able to use that until we can support bulk in the new shipment manager.

I tired yesterday and was unable to perform the bulk shipping. It just timed out on me. I just tried it now and it is working again. I greatly appreciate the update and help.
