Why are my pictures uploading sideways?

Why are my pictures uploading sideways? And it does not let me turn them.

@Beadhaven4 Welcome to the community. This is just a thought and I hope it resolves your issue. Sometime the images may appear sideways due to orientation metadata not being properly recognized. 

I would try this and hopefully it will fix your problem.

1. Reopen the photo in your editing software or if you took the photo with you phone open it in the photos software. ( I know sometimes when I take a photo with my iPhone in portrait mode the orientation doesn’t change and my photo is taken sideways).

2. Rotate the image to the right orientation.

3. Then resave it.

4. Upload the saved photo to your website.

 

This should update the orientation in the metadata. This has happened to me a couple of times and I hope this fixes your problem.

 

The photos below are an example of how the orientation metadata is read. The numbers circled in red on each photo shows the orientation of the photo and how it would appear. To see this info on your iPhone/iPad, anywhere on the photo just swipe up with your finger and it will appear.
