This product does not use the domain you selected for Instagram Shopping

I have been approved for Instagram Shopping but when I try to tag a product I get the message "This product does not use the domain you selected for Instagram Shopping".  I don't know what this means, or where to fix it.  Square? Facebook?  Instagram?  The domain I'm using is the free Square shopping URL which ends in square.site.  Anyone else experienced this?

I did some Googling of that error message, and it seems like this is some kind of error on Facebook or Instagram's end. It does sound like some people were able to solve that by going into their Facebook Business manager settings and verifying the domain name there. If you try that, make sure to do the verification tag option so you can use that as a header code in Website > Integrations within the Square Online overview page.

Took me forever to figure this out, but I had to go into Instagram Settings-->Business-->Shopping-->Website and update the website to my Square site. I thought it was already set to that, but turns out it was set to my old WooCommerce site (which I couldn't get to work with FB/IG).

Thanks Adam.  I had verified my domain last week because Facebook told me I needed to do that before my Instagram shop could be approved.  I will go back and double check my verification though.

Hi,

 

Thanks for the response!  I have done that, and it used to work.  But then I changed domains and Instagram stopped working.  I went into IF settings to verify the new domain.  But it will not verify...  The meta tag is there on my page.... I can see it in the code.  But it will still not verify through Facebook Business/Instagram.

 

I have contacted both FB and Square/Weebly support several times.  But no resolution so far.

 

Any thoughts?

I am having similiar issues. I was approved for shopping, verified my domain, my facbook and instagram pages are connected. When I go to Instagram shopping I see 3 product sources to choose from, all of which are pre-selected. I can not deselect one. When I try to tag a product, it says no products found. 

 

I still get the message on the business manager to verify my domain though!! This is all so confusing!

So a long time ago, i didnt know how to set up instagram shopping and i had an old square/weebly website. I put that website on my set up instagram shopping. It said to verify your domain. I didnt know I had to pay back then, so today, I tried to verify it so I looked up how to do it and it said i had to pay for a domain. But, i realized that I cant change the website on instagram because i have to verify it first. But I have a new website running and published but I can't change it on the instagram set up process of verify your domain. I tried to delete my old site but it still didn't work and my old site is completely gone. Im trying to buy a domain for my website but there is no point because I cant even change my website on verify domain. Does anyone know how to restart the whole "Set Up Instagram Shopping" process?

Hi Eddie,

 

I have this problem like the thread you replied too. I can't seem to tag my products on instagram. Yesterday I got my shop to work by adding the meta tag to the shop code. This worked, fb and insta shop works. but now I can't tag. I already did the verification thing of the domain, I don't dare to go there again, as it will probably will stop my shop from working. Is there any other way that you maybe know how to fix this? that would be great.

Instagram doesn't respond and I would love to sort this problem

how did you get your meta tag in the shop code? We are having major problem with this and can't get it to work.. Just all of a sudden wouldn't connect and now the "pixel" is saying that a bunch of our fields are missing when they are actually there - like price, etc.
