I have two text box modifiers defined, and even though I have the boxes checked 'apply to this item', the modifiers do not appear. I believe this is because the modifiers are not set for 'All Locations' and I don't find any method to change that setting.
A check-box modifier does appear on the item, and that modifier does show 'All Locations'.

Hello there @GJim and welcome to the Seller Community
At this time, The reason that your Text Modifiers are not visible in your link is that Text Modifiers are currently only available on Square Online Sites.
My advice is to create a free Square Online site and have your customers visit the link to the item in the Store once your site is published.

Thanks. I have created the Square Online site, and added the link on my own web-site (www.gjim.com).
It would have been helpful if this information was included in the 'Modifiers' set-up information.
