Team Members now require cell or email

I am seeing that Member account now require and email or cell number.  This is causing problems here as the folks running register are vendors and usually older folks that don't have an email or cell phone. Not sure when this was started, but didn't have this issue before.  We could simply go in and create an account and be done.  Be nice to have the option to not require a phone number or email like before.  Just want a basic account so they can run the registers.

Do they need to have a specific account, or could you have one generic one with a general passcode they could use? I just looked under my account and saw that only an email is required, and the phone number is optional. Maybe you could set up a generic gmail account to get a "general team member", and then just give everyone that doesn't have an email that one. Not ideal of course, but a potential work around?

I tried just using their cafe email for all but it needs to be unique per person.  I was hoping just to do the number and get a text and say yea I accept but then wants you to setup an account online with an email.  Was so simple before, just go in and make a basic account and no fuss.  I also tried setting the number to my cell just to get past it but like above, but it just send you a link to create an account with an email.  She has been having a high turn over with people as well lately so this just adds to the nonsense.

I think it's better the cashier having their own account for reports, sales, etc.

I am having the same issue, with employees who are elders that don't have cell phones or email address. And some teens that also do not have phones or email. I am located in an older rural community and this is a big stumbling block for my business. Any way to get around this requirement?
