You would think Square would already have this feature but really although Square is great in many things they are so primitive & behind in other very simple things. We would most likely not use their Online store.
Thanks for sharing your feedback, @twisteddough
We recently launched item quantity maximums, and item quantity minimums is on the way! I unfortunately do not have an exact ETA, but the product teams are definitely aware of how important this feature would be for many of our sellers, and are working to bring this feature to the item setup.
In the meantime, the only thing I can suggest is pre-determined amounts of what you would allow. ex; 6 scones, or a dozen rolls. You can also use the modifiers on the items to provide an option to add individual items if you do not want people "stuck" only ordering in multiples of 6, 10, 12 etc.
I have been keeping an eye out for updates on order minimums, and I will make sure to update the threads here once I have more information on an ETA.
Thanks again for posting! It truly is helpful, and very much appreciated! ❤️
Hi @elelem, thank you for your feedback and patience.
As soon as we have an update, we will share it on this thread.

I see that this does not fully meet your needs, but you can set a minimum for Square Online Pickup orders @JamalK. If applicable, please go to Square Online > Settings > Pickup & Delivery > Edit Location > Scroll to Pickup Settings:
Orders that don’t meet this requirement won’t be eligible for pickup, and customers will see a message in the cart letting them know.
What kind of minimum/maximum order settings are you looking for? Let me know! ✨👩🏼💻

Thanks Isabelle for the help. i saw that feature before but that can only be used as a minimum per order total of the cart. For example, we have a website for catering where we can only deliver your order if your total is over $200 & that is satisfied with Square feature you mentioned. But we need clients to order a minimum of 10 per item & that can not be done now with square. Also we need to have an advance notice for orders. for example order in advance/prep time of 12 Hours or 48 Hours or 1 day or 2 days. Square has many options but not flexible like 5 hours or 1 business day.

Hi @JamalK I think the only work around at this time for item minimums is to make the item available in quantities of 10.
Can you clarify what you mean by "need to have an advance notice for orders. for example order in advance/prep time of 12 Hours or 48 Hours or 1 day or 2 days."
You should have both 48 hours, and 1 or 2 business days available to set as the prep time. Is this what you mean, or are you talking about something different?

Hi BernadetteA
(I think the only work around at this time for item minimums is to make the item available in quantities of 10) that would not work. Some people want to order 12 or 17 or whatever. We just need a minimum of 10 not a multiple of 10. I currently have this on an old website i created myself 6 years ago & i don't do coding. This stuff is basic & Square should already have it available.
in catering, clients must order 24 hours or 2 days in advance for example ( must place order before 12 PM on a Saturday for a Monday delivery at 12 PM ( 48 hours advance time). 2 business days is not going to work here & 2 regular days option is not listed.
thanks
Oh, I understand now. Thanks for clarifying. Hopefully that is a feature we would be able to implement soon.

I'd love to see the minimum qty feature available too.
E.g. I sell planners and offer inserts to purchase but would like to set my purchase conditions for the inserts as minimum of 2 or to purchase in multiples of 2.
I would love to see this too.
Hey there @smallcakessi
We still don't have any update on this feature but I will make sure to pass this over to our product team.
Thank you for taking the time to share your interest in a feature like this.
P.S. Welcome to the Seller Community ✨

I'd love this too. For example, I want to be able to set the moq to be 40 pieces. And ideally, also that you can set that it can only be purchased by multiples such as by sets of 5 or 10 etc.
The reason this is so imortant to me, is because the only workaround to setting moq is by listing the items as "pack of ___" , meaning that I myself have to manually insert the price for each pack. It is extremely tine consuming and frustrating to have to do that, especally since my customers purchase anywhere from 40 to 400 pieces of the item I'm selling.
It's also frustrating that square customer service, and on these threads, have already claimed a few years ago that they are working on this feature request. It's a basic request that so many of us need.
Thanks so much for this Request @elelem. In order to appropriately send these to our product teams we’d love it if you'd submit this request on our Ideate page for Square Online. Our team monitors these boards and we triage them to measure needs. You can search the boards to see if this has been requested before and add your use case if so!

This has already been requested on the ideate page and I starred it too.
It's been many years since people asked about it, and I myself was told a few years ago that it's being worked on, but so far it hasn't.
The fact that it's not a feature yet results in myself and many other sellers in similar cases to spend hours manually inserting pricing on "package deals" instead of being able to just set a price and having a multiplier.
its been a year, and this feature has not yet been rolled out. It's more frustrating than you can imagine.

I need this feature as well. We will not produce one cinnamon roll, scone, etc for a customer so we need to have a minimum order quantity. It’s a pretty basic feature. I can’t fathom why Square hasn’t implemented this.
Thanks for sharing your feedback, @twisteddough

The problem with this is that you can only ad one modifier so if you have a base item of 6 scones you can only add 1 so 7 or 13 or 19 or 25 vs 6 or 12 or 18 or 24 not very many options there and as others have stated a true pain - so the real only work around I see it you put the minimum on the menu and every where you can and then have to call the client when they do not meet the qty amount ... and if you add a bunch of modifiers you are asking the client to try to do the math as their is no qty change with the modifiers (besides being a long strange list of the same item they have to check off).

It's been almost a year. Is it still on it's way?? I really need this for my business and have been asking square for it since 2013.....
Looking soooooo forward to the minimum order quantity to be done soon I have held off launching drop off services because of the confusion but built it anyway hoping that this will finally get done as you stated (topic goes back to 2016).
Yes, agreed. Very excited for the order minimum and order multiple feature. We need this too for our business.
