When you go to any modern ecommerce website you see a cropped picture and when you click on it the full picture shows up. Even in our item library the cropped picture opens to show the full image.
Why then does Square not carry over the full image to the online sites?
The last post I saw was here and while I understand Feature Requests bring light to something we would like to see, this has been an ongoing issue for years according to my searching.
Going by my item library I wasn't even aware this was an issue until I was assisting a customer looking at our costumes on our site. 99% of our pictures come from standard product pictures that are designed to play well with websites or that are even pulled from our competitors. The majority of our products are mass produced and thus have tons of pictures online that aren't cropped like they are on Square.
My use case of this feature request is simply that with an item library of over 20,000 SKU's, it's impractical for me to resize or make sure each image fits in a 1;1 ratio.
It also discourages new Square sellers because telling us to go edit the pictures doesn't realistically work and is a barrier to adoption.
From a coding perspective I'd love to know why the cropped pictures don't open to show the full picture because the full picture exists and it works that way on the item library.
Thanks for your consideration as this is a fairly large impediment to online sales if the cropped pictures are distorted and can't be properly shown.
