I would like to see a feature on square.

I would like to sell downloadable digital files, where an automated email goes out with the file link right after check out.  I would be able to have one more way to have sales in my business.  I am a hypnotist and don't have a way to sell digital files through my website.  I don’t know how to sell digital files through square.

While I have other products on Square, I am using Etsy to sell my ebook. Super easy and automatic process.

The original weebly site builder allowed you to sell digital downloads without having to manually send digital files via email to customers whereas as square doesn't. I've been waiting very patiently since the buy-out for this full feature to be available. I don't know who else is tired of emailing files to customers who purchase digital downloads from their website because I'm sure tired of it. When this full feature would be available?

I am seriously **bleep**ed about this. I am trying to set up a page for a musician who needs to sell & ship physical CD's and digital downloads. I cannot believe there isn't "an automated digital file send process after they make their purchase."  If I had known this to start with I most DEFINITELY would not have created an account here. I am super angry right now. Customers today expect INSTANT access to a download. That is the norm. Waiting on me to manually send it to them is going to make our customers as angry as I am right now. This is completely unacceptable.

I moved your post to an existing thread on selling virtual/digital items with the Square Online Store.

I'd recommend checking out our Terms and Services page to be sure what you're specifically selling is allowed but as long as it's a good/service- you should be okay.

How does the confirmation email work then if I can't automate this? What info do they get?

Also, how do I get customer email address? I cannot seem to access marketing tab

Hey @SavvyMari - Helen here stepping in for Tra. Your customers will receive an email confirming their order, letting them know that the digital item will be sent in a separate email. This Support Centre article has information about adding a custom message to your confirmation emails: Add a Digital Item to Square Online.

Square Marketing isn't available in the UK yet - sorry for the confusion! You can learn more about how customer emails are collected in your Customer Directory in our Support Centre.

I see in the email edit function that I can add a file to the confirmation email. Assuming that all my customers (all products) get this one digital file: is it an option to upload it there to download?

If I cannot deliver digital product automatically, then why is my test email showing this? example digital product with "downloads information" text?

I cannot find any place where I can update "downloads information" section.
