Restricting some items to specific locations

I need to restrict a subset of items sold through Square Online to pickup only at a specific location. Is there a way to do this through either the Square Dashboard or Square Online? Or do I need to export my item library, then manually update the "Enabled..." field for each item to reflect the location availability?

@t1m On the item screen when you have the item, you can select what locations the item will be available.  This should make the item available at only the locations selected.  If you need it available on the POS and in the online store, I would recommend you have 2 items, as there is not a real clean way to have them do that, except you could just put the items out of stock for that particular location and then you could sell it both way.

Yeah, sorry. I've been making some substantial changes and fell down a rabbit hole. I think I've got the configuration corrected now as far as what is available where now.

 

My question now is really more about whether there is a way to manage what the customer sees when viewing the item on the website.

 

The items in question are marked to only be available in the one location I want them to be available in but all locations are visible Online when viewing the item. From the "Select Pickup Location" option on the item, the full list of locations are shown and the one it's available in has "Item Available" in small print. Ideally, the customer would only be presented with the locations the item is available and not see all the locations and need to be attentive enough to note the "item available" tag. If the customer selects an option where it's not available they end up on an Item page that says "Not Available" and can't add it to their cart. So it would seem the customer shouldn't be able to order and select a non-viable location, but would have a poor user experience.

@t1m, I understand your concern. Our fulfillment system is designed to show all locations where an item is available, but it restricts adding the item to the cart to only the specific location where it's in stock. This is how the system is currently set up.
