Removing variations

Odd behavior on backend (PC)

In the backend on PC...

I made variations for quite a few of my products.The system showed the original item and the variation (plus the original entered item, so a total of 3 entries were visible). All is well.

However..,.

I've decided I do not want these variations now so I've removed (deleted) the variations. In the POS it now shows only 1 items, good!

However, on the back it still shows 2 entries - 1 is the original and 1 is a duplicate of the original (the variation that was created).

Is there a way to remove the 2nd entry and retain the original?

@janjwoodables I'm having a little trouble picturing the problem you are having.  So you created an item, added variations to that item, and deleted the variations, but still seeing 2?  or are you seeing duplicate items?

One other question, did you use options to create the items?

Yes exactly.

It is not for all items, but many. Some items, when I removed the variation it compressed to a single item, but others are showing 2 items (there is a down arrow next to the main item, when you click it you see a second item identical to the main item)

I did not use "options" to create the variation items, I used the "Add' option by "Variations"

@janjwoodables Ahhh Eureka, I understand exactly what you are seeing now.  You only have one item, but now the variation still shows.

Go to the item, scroll down to "edit variation details" and then where you see name, delete anything you have there and save it.  That will get rid of the drop down still showing the variation.

Boom, should be fixed, I just tested it again to make sure as I have those little orphaned trees sometimes.
