To use a dropdown you will need to set it in the options.
For Product Options (Dropdowns):
Log in to your Square Online dashboard.
Go to "Items" and select "Item Library."
Choose the product you want to edit or add a new one.
Add an Option Set:
Scroll down to "Options" and add an option set (e.g., size, color).
Configure the option as a dropdown by adding choices, such as "Small," "Medium," and "Large."
Save the item.
The dropdown will appear on the product page, allowing customers to choose their preferred option.
The radio buttons is listed under modifiers.
Navigate to "Items" in your Square Online dashboard.
Select "Modifiers" and create a new modifier set.
For example, create a modifier set called "Packaging Options" with choices like "Gift Wrap" or "Standard Packaging."
Choose "Single Choice" for the modifier set.
This will make the choices appear as radio buttons for the customer to select.
Assign the modifier set to your product.
Save the changes.
The radio buttons will appear on the product page under the selected item.
unfortunately that does not work, every since options have migrated from square online (weebly interface) to square dashboard (square interface) there is no option to turn on dropdown. Previously you would set it to be either Text Radio, Text Dropdown or Text with colors. Currently there is no dropdown option it only has Text or Text and Color, neither of these options display as a dropdown only as a selectable radio button.
You can see below there is no options to make the option set into a dropdown. Unless there is a global setting elsewhere i am missing.
For example the product will look like this now...

-Click to Select -V
As you can see the second one is preferable if you have tons of options like i do to make the product page much more neat instead of overwhelming with a wall of text of multiple option sets.
If this migration of options to dashboard didn't happen I would guess your method would work but unfortunately it doesn't work or me. I've even trying to make a new option just to make sure and still it will only display as a radio button not a dropdown selection box. I wouldn't mind but since my products have quite a few options (I.E. on of my options has over 40 options to pick) this can make the product page look well a pain to us.
If you have any other suggestions or if anyone else does i would like to hear it.
PS/Edit :: Adding an image of the old option set selection below. See there was an option for dropdown but now that option sets aren't handled in the Weebly Online interface you have to use the Square Dashboard interface (image above) with does not have the dropdown option.
I understand what you mean now. I haven’t had to add any new options since they merged the online and POS systems. Before the merge, did you have any items online that had a drop-down window? If so, you could always duplicate that item and the drop-down window would carry over into that. Then, you can add the items in the option section.
