Phantom item

When I started putting items in my shop I put one in on my phone instead of the computer. It shows up as available on the site but when anyone clicks it it shows an error code saying “page not found”. How can I delete this item? It doesn’t show up under items on the website editing side.

Hi Saraht23,

 

Although the volunteer Community Members are not the same as Tech or Customer Support, there is quite a bit of hands on experience using Square's Apps and Hardware.  Posting your site's URL would be helpful so others can take a look at what you're seeing.  You also have the option to contact Tech Support direct as they can look at your site setup (something we can't do) and may do some magic on their end.

I see 8 items available, but yes the  "Go with the flow top and bloomer set" gives a 404.

 

you said you added it from the phone.  now while that shouldn't be an issue have you looked at your site from your phone to see if you can see the item listed and delete it there?

It doesn’t show up on my items on the phone! It’s like it doesn’t exist except it shows up on the webpage!

Not sure if my original reply came though. I looked on both my computer and phone and neither of them will show it as an item on the back side but both show it on the site.

That is strange that it is not showing up on the backend. I'm going to try to re-index the site to see if that helps remove it from the live page. Can you post back here after 24 hours to let us know if it is still showing? You may need to re-publish the site as well.

I’m so sorry my kids fell sick and I forgot. It’s still showing as an item and giving a 404 error.

Hi Bernadette, I'm having the same issue on my site that OP was having on theirs. The URL is https://spartabooks.square.site/s/shop.

 

There are 11 "phantom" items on the page (they are the items with no pictures) and you get a 404 error message when you click on them. They are not in my inventory. I believe they're leftover from inventory that I uploaded and then used the "Undo Catalog" option to remove. I did that several times, as I kept making mistakes in the upload.

 

Do you think you can fix it?
