Online Store Launch & Keeping Location Inventory Separate

Hey community,

I have a brick and mortar retail location. I want to launch an online store, but I do not want the online store to be taking inventory from the brick and mortar location. Is there a way to separate the counted inventory within the online store management tool, or do I need to pay for a second location to call "online" so the inventory does not overlap? Thanks.

@Cauldron_ManYou could create a separate location, but it may be easier to create two versions of an item, one for online and one for in store. You'd have to differentiate somehow between the versions in your naming, and for your in-store version, mark it as not being available online. When you add your item to your website, choose the version that you have labeled for your online website inventory. Unless you have a ton of items, this could be manageable...if you have thousands for items, you may want to explore the second location option.

Thanks @HC_Charlie, unfortunately we do have 1,000+ items, so the item creation is not a solution for us.
