Online Order Pickup Time Default Issue

I own a bakery / coffee shop combo, so some items ordered online are available for immediate pickup yet others are a preorder basis. I'm finding that the cart is changing the order ready time to the date associated with the preorder item (2 days in future) and not telling our customers that they can pickup their immediate items within 15 minutes. Very confusing for customers to say the least! Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

@rlowe typically the cart defaults to the longest production time for when the order will be ready.  The system is not super capable of handling order ahead and buy it now.  I would separate up your order ahead items more from the ready now items.  I would make sure to put in the instructions or categorize your immediate items differently.  I would almost set up a second site for order ahead and when they click on those items you get that redirect.  I wish there was a better way to do it, but otherwise you can change the fulfillment settings to where you manage the pick up and delivery times and coordinate with the customer.  But this does add a layer of time that you may not want to do.
