My webpage loads slow, how do I fix this?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix a home page with slow-loading images. The page is not stuck or anything, it's just when I scroll down the images take a second to load instead of already being loaded.

Aside from that everything seems fine from my point of view. Any ideas?

Thank you

Hello @DBSR thanks for your post. There are a bunch of reasons why this may be happening, so you'll have to see if any of these apply to your website.

  • You may be viewing your website on older or outdated hardward (computer) or software (browser version)
  • Your images may not be optimized (meaning they are larger than necessary). You could try to reduce the number of pixels or size of the images, or change the format. You can google image formats (.jpg, .png, etc.) to learn about what image formats may be the best to use.
  • Your computer cache or memory may be full. You could try to clear out your cache/cookies in your web browser. Note, that when doing this, the images may initially be slow to reload until they are "re-cached"
  • You could also try to delete and then re-insert images on that page, and then be sure to republish the page and see if that helps load times.

I hope some of these ideas may help with your issue. You may also post your website in a reply here and other sellers could take a specific look and offer some more suggestions.

@DBSRI checked out your website and it really didn't load slow for me. I saw three "bouncing balls" for a just a second or two, but I really didn't notice any slow loading that made me stop and think that anything was wrong. Have you tried testing on other computers, browsers, or your phone or ipad?
