Items won't show, bulk edit does not "work"

So I have been fighting for over an over with why "some" items show and others don't.  I have my checkout default set to PICKUP, fulfillment is enabled, yet items imported from the library still get tagged for "Shipping" not pickup or self serve.

 

I have tried to BULK EDIT them all to just tag pickup/self serve ordering and the changes do not actually seem to take and I have to edit every single item individually over and over again.  This is driving me nuts and should work properly, so am I just missing something?  The site preview shows all the items, but then the published site doesn't.

I've tried Incogneto so rule out a cache, but man this is insane. I have literally bulk edited a dozen times with both options checked and only Self Service is there, even though the site default is actually pickup...WTH..

Try editing this setting: Online -> Shared settings -> Item preferences-> Default item fulfillment

I have that set as stated to "Pickup" I simply do not want shipping but the items allways seem to get that checked when imported, it's just. not working right.  I even copied the site and bulk edit still will not force the two options I want and still has some marked as "shipping" so they don't show up...this is maddening and seems like it should work properly it's costing lot of manual edit time to do what BULK EDIT is supposed to do.

@CColotti I just checked that setting, and it was still configured to Shipping, but I've updated it for you so it should work going forward. 

 

The bulk edit option does work as well. I'd suggest you give it a couple of minutes though after completing a bulk edit before checking to make sure it worked.

Bulk Edit has been my nightmare since it began!  I was so excited to finally get this feature but it is subpar at best!  The support team has been less than helpful with my inquiries... Only responding that they're working on some of the issues.  The issues are quickly becoming more of a headache than this "bulk edit" is worth!  Let me break down my issues with the Bulk Edit feature:

1.  Bombs out A LOT which requires a refresh or restart of Square and causes me to lose work 

2.  Not all fields/options are available to bulk edit and/or you have to still select an option and press enter to move forward (not really a bulk edit at all)

3.  If editing a large amount of data, Bulk Edit will "stutter" and finally change your typed input to whatever the H*%% it wants.  Case in point, multi-item edit with 2 different vendors being updated.  Program froze up for a few seconds (stutter) and then every single item I was trying to edit all had the same exact vendor name which is NOT what I was entering at all.

 

These are just the top 3 pain points of Bulk Edit...  I really feel like Square isn't even giving these new additions any type of testing before they are implemented.  For example - GTIN field...  Barcodes won't scan a GTIN unless you input the actual GTIN number into the SKU field - I don't know who Square has working for them but I've had to create so many "work arounds", I feel like they should be paying me at this point!

I am not sure which Square system you are using....Square POS, Square for Retail Free or Plus Paid. I previously used the free version and was able to use the GTIN barcodes and now I am using the Plus with the same ability to use either GTIN or SKU  fields.  As with your other concerns I do not use the Square Bulk edit but edit items by CSV files.  it is quicker for me.

If you are only using Square POS you would not be able to use the GTIN field which might be why you are running into that problem.  As you can see in the chart below Use GTIN Barcodes row in red.  I colored it red so it was easy to find.
