Items not showing up online

Hi, I have had my website over a year and in the last day, when I go to my "Items" under ONLINE it brings to me to my items in total inventory. When I create an item there, it does not show up on my website... what has changed? Why am I being redirected? Same thing for categories, I have added my item in categories and it still is not showing up...

Square is currently working on merging the online environment into the main Square dashboard. Currently, fulfillment settings, categories, and items have been transferred over. The transition period may be a little rough--a lot of "where'd this go?" for a bit--but I think the end result should be a streamlined setup that will eliminate a lot of confusion.

 

As to your issues with items not showing online, I'm wondering if somehow your default settings got switched to no online visibility at an item level. When you look through your items that aren't showing, are both the visibility and Where It's Sold sections set correctly?

 

With the category merge, I've seen times where category settings changed too. Check to make sure your online visibility is set up correctly on the category level too.

 

If that's not helping, please reply with your website address. We may be able to troubleshoot further when we see your site from a customer standpoint.

Good morning chef @RitaRito !

 

I agree, going to your website shows no items available.

 

I have a couple of ideas for you to check:

 

-Verify that your settings are correct at Dashboard -> Account & Settings -> Fulfillment -> Online Pickup and Delivery.

-Make sure your items' types are all the same: I'm assuming for you the majority of your items will be Food & Beverage for the type.

-Check your website template, make sure you're using the Order Online template instead of Shop All. Check this at Dashboard -> Online -> Website -> Edit Site. On the dropdown list with all your web pages, look for the page Order Online. If you see it, you're all set. If you see Shop All, hover your mouse over Shop All, click the three dots that appear, then choose Switch Template.

-On your Point of Sale, look at an item that you expect to be visible online. Check its visibility in the POS: it may have not taken the visibility setting. If you set visibility here, does it show online? (This is a very random thing that I've seen on rare occasion that confuses the heck out of me and the dev team)

-On all your items, have you set their fulfillment settings? Pickup, delivery, shipping, or a combo of those? And do those visibility settings match what your website is expecting? I've seen too many times that if an item is set for shipping but the website isn't configured for it the item won't show. You can set your default item type and fulfillment settings at Dashboard -> Online -> Settings (or Shared Settings) -> Item Preferences.

-Try doing a mass fulfillment and visibilty update on your items list at Dashboard -> Items. Select the items you want visible on the site, then click Actions at the bottom right. You can batch set fulfillment and visibility on this menu.

-Try unpublishing your website, wait 10 minutes, then publish it again.

 

After that, if you're still having troubles let us know!
