Items in my Item Library are missing from Square Online - where are they?

The title of this post has been edited from the original: New Store is missing a full category of my products

 

I'd like to migrate to (publish) the new store, but when I preview it it is missing an entire category. I made the new category and moved some items into it (in my current store) almost 2 weeks ago, but they don't show in the new version. How do I know they will be there if I publish the new store? Who can I talk to about this discrepancy between the current and new store?

There are a few things that will prevent your item from being visible on Square Online - these tips should help get you pointed in the right direction.

 

One thing I've seen that will prevent items in your Square Item Library from showing up in your Online Store is applying a variable price to an item. Because variable-priced items are currently not supported on the Online Store, you'll see this message at the bottom of your Edit Item screen while editing the item in your Square Item Library:

 

 

Another reason items could be missing from your Square Online site is if they are currently listed as Unavailable or Hidden in the Item Library section of your Square Online site. This is what you would see when editing the item within the website editor if your item is not marked as Visible

 

 

If you have multiple locations, you'll want to make sure that the items you want to appear on your Square Online site are made Available at the location synced to your Square Online site. Even if you only have one location, if the item is not Available at your location, you'll see this message when editing your item (you can manage availability by clicking the link to edit the item in your Square Online Overview Page):

This is the message you'll see in your Square Online Dashboard when editing an item:

Within your Square Sync settings, you have the ability to enable or disable the option to Mark newly imported items as “Unavailable” online. If this setting is enabled, your items will not be Visible when you add them to your Item Library:

One more thing you can look into is whether you've set a quantity in the Stock column of the Variations section when editing an item. This can affect whether your item appears on your website:

Welcome back to our Seller Community. Perhaps it can be your fulfillment method that needs to be set up for every item to be available. You can make these edits in your Online Square Store by heading over to Item Library > Click on each Item and scroll down to > Fulfillment > All. Here you can also check if they are available.

It would be nice if you would put links to the other posts you keep referring to. I have 17 locations--17 online stores -- the new online store broke ALL of them. I fixed them and it broke them all AGAIN. SAME ISSUES as before but this time it won't let me fix them.

The system started making all of our items unavailable at each of our locations. When I fixed that, they were fine for a few days. Then it made them all unavailable again and started telling me that it couldn't make the items available because they didn't have prices and to add a variation with a price even though they already had 4-10 variations with prices. Then it started telling me that the item was marked "unavailable" only in the locations where I had specifically marked it "available". But switching the toggles in the location availability boxes didn't do anything but make it unavailable everywhere.  I created a workaround with entirely new items through the online store dashboard but I dont' have time to create 2,000 new items to replace everything we have right now. We have had NOTHING but PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM with the new system. Now, orders aren't showing up on the Square side of the dashboard. Some show up after hours, some after days, some still haven't shown up at all. The transition to Weebly for square might have saved square some money. But at this rate it is going to cost them a whole lot more. I'm about ready to take my 18 locations and $3.5 million worth of transactions elsewhere.

hello 👋. So I have to ask for help. My Etsy store is synced with square and I was wanting to set up the free store through square which is weebly, but trying to figure out how to set it up is a nightmare or I’m completely clueless I don’t know?

 

I did my logo, my banner okay so I have features category on the home page, I have no idea how to add items for sale in it. I ended up somehow creating multiple of the same item for sale that showed up in my list outside the store.. ugh!! At this point I’m ready to give up because it’s far to figure out.

 

I've created websites before but Weebly has to be the least user friendly

Let's start by taking a look at the items in your Item Library - there are a few things that will prevent your item from being visible on your Square Online Store. It is NOT user friendly. I have spent many many many hours figuring stuff out and still there are plenty of glitches. If you want to reach out to me personally I may be able to help you since the support doesn't have a lot of answers. (I'm still waiting on posts from April... :-/)  Some things are trial and error but for the most part a pain and the videos show nothing in regards to troubleshooting...

Hello Square Community.

 

I've been using Square to accept payments in person for years, but just now am trying to set up taking payments online instead of using PayPal.

 

I added a new item with size variations and inventory, generated an Online Checkout link, and while it displays with all the correct info, when I try to test a purchase it shows this error:

 

"This store is not yet accepting payments. Please check back later."

Don't you love how they move your post to a thread but don't actually answer your question?

 

Anyhow, I don't sell this way, (with item links) but I'm guessing you added this via your register app and not on a desktop? If so, most likely that's the problem. All items, from what I've found it doesn't matter if you have items, qty, prices etc if they are not put in categories on the desktop, ones that you create. Categories from the app don't sync. 

If that's not it, you should probably give weebly (not square) a call.

Nope, I created the item on Desktop.

 

And yep, Weebly is now in contact and completely unhelpful. I’ve never used the Online Store feature and it’s somehow stuck thinking that my Square account is unverified. But when I click the verify button, it just opens a new browser window and starts the whole process over again. A dumb endless loop.

Also, if you are doing this from app only, you might go to dashboard on desktop and double check that your store is actually published? That might be why it has that specific message.

Hello!  I have my menu set up and it's showing up online but i can't seem to figure how to to make my items available.  I've made the items visible but when I go to my online store it won't let me checkout and says not available.  Thank you for any help

Have you added quantities? If they show online and but show as unavailable that means, generally, there is zero quantity.

Hello! I have done everything this thread is asking me to do and none of my items are available on my online store. I can see them all in the Square App and can complete purchases there but when I go to my Square website and press 'shop' ALL of my items say 'Not Available' instead of 'Add to Cart.' 

 

I've cleared my cookies, I've toggled 'off' the sync button that makes things show unavailable/available, I've added new items to try those instead. Nothing is working. Help!

***  UPDATE:  I figured it out.  I went into the Edit Website and was able to add my items in "Featured menu items."  ***

 

I'm trying to add items online -- they worked last week (then I removed them because our menu changed, and we are now adding them back in). 

 

The items are not showing online. I have:

  • Marked them visible
  • Tried to create a brand NEW item, and that doesn't appear online
  • Checked our one location
  • Settings/Pickup & Delivery looks good
  • In the Square App, the items show they are "Available for Purchase Online."

The only item I am getting to appear on our site is the 1 item that we had for sale previously.

I've added an event and a product, made "visible" then selected the category, and neither items are showing up in the online store.
