Is there a way to have Stock tracking on and website allowed to sell items not in stock?

I track all my inventory and use low stock alerts on items I regularly keep on hand at my physical location. My online store has many more options available that are not in stock but can be readily acquired. However, I can not sell them in my online store if stock tracking is turned on for those options. Is there a way around this?

I.e. : Item is a Bowling ball. Item has 5 weight options. I normally stock 1 of those weight options, but my distributor is near me. I can only sell the 1 weight option online if stock tracking is on, even though I allow all weight options to be ordered. I like to track all my stock history and current allocations. Is this plausible to do?

Hi @kcstrikezone,

I see what you're aiming to achieve! Currently, the system is set up to cease online purchases once an item's stock reaches zero. However, you have the option to enable or disable stock tracking for individual variations associated with your bowling ball item. Refer to the attached screenshot where I've enabled stock tracking for the Light Pink variation only.

Let me know if this helps to answer your question!

Thanks for your response. I went and did that to all my "non-stocking" items. Does having the stock tracking off affect the inventory reporting and stock history reports?

Also, with purchase orders, is there a way to have a vendor credit/return? Currently, I have to go into each item and manually take them out as a loss. If there is quite a few items on my vendor return, it is a little time consuming and history doesn't reflect a return.

Thanks for your help.
