Hide Business Location on Square Online Appointments Booking Page

Challenge:

 

I have toggled "Phone Only" in the Where do you accept appointments? section of my Square Account > Appointments > Settings > Calendar & Booking > Appointment Preferences

 

My business location address is dynamically inserted on my Square Online Appointments page.

 

Feature Request:

 

Develop the option to hide the business address in the Services list section of the Square Online Appointments page.

 

This feature would optimize the user experience on the Appointments Booking page.

The business address appears prominently on the Appointments Booking page.

Meeting in person at the physical location is not an available service option for prospective clients when "Phone Only" is the Appointment setting.

I highly, highly support this feature request. Like @taylorandjones I have the same issue with business location address being dynamically inserted on Square Online Appointments page even with "Phone Only" toggled. My business address happens to be my home/private address and all of my services are conducted virtually. Out of privacy and preference I have no need for the 'business address' to show on appointments. This is the only thing preventing me from finalizing Appointments and using it as preferred booking platform.

Appreciate your collaboration on this feature request. I know keeping certain personal information separate from your business is a crucial need, so I am glad you brought it over. 

 

As of now, it's not planned by our Product Team. This doesn't mean it could not be added in the future. Keep an eye out for any updates from our Community Moderators. If you know of any other sellers that would be interested, I would encourage them to add their voice

It's disappointing news. 

 

An optional layout for the Appointments page, with the business location address in a less prominent position would be a welcomed alternative. 

 

I've taken the extra step of renting a post office box. This allows the use of the post office's street address and PO Box number as a physical address.

Please, please give us the ability to hide our physical address on the Appointments page. I do not understand why all of the sudden my address got published! When I first set up my Appointments page months ago it was working just the way I wanted it to and my address was not visible on anything public. There was no communication that my address would be published on any of my online materials – not the receipt nor the Appointments page and tonight I just noticed it now shows so I had to Unpublish my Booking site! This is not ok and I feel like it's a violation of trust. I followed all the previous instructions to hide my address before publishing months ago and now all of the sudden my address has been made public and I don't know for how long. I have the same needs — I serve my clients both remotely and also in person, but I don't want the whole internet to know where I live. I believe that's for me to decide, not the platform. I worked for weeks on my site before publishing it and now I've had to unpublish it till this gets fixed. I've been a Square customer for years and I'm really disappointed in this.

What I’d like to know is why does this have to even be a feature request? They say it’s not planned, but it seems more like it’s something that got changed or broken because when I published my site for booking appointments I was happy with how it looked and my address was not visible. This was just shortly before the holidays. Something must have changed within the past few weeks.

Thank you @BernadetteA I did go in and change the address to the address of the local park near me. What I'm concerned about though is come tax time for reporting, will things get messy if my actual business address (home address; sole proprietor) isn't configured? Would Square ever need to send me snail mail? If so, it wouldn't get to me. What's really odd is after I went in to make that change and re-publish my booking site, now the address no longer shows up! I'm so confused why it's now waking as it did before with no address. I checked back a few days after re-publishing and the public park address I'd added still doesn't show, but now I'm afraid to put back my real address in case it gets published again without me knowing about it. I find it hard to trust Square won't publish my address again.

Today, I viewed my Appointments page. Voila! The business location / address is no longer visible on the page!

 

In the online store editor a new Location Banner option has been added.

 

Appointments page > Services List > Content > Location Banner
