Feature Request: BOGO (Buy one, get one) and other automatic discounts via my Square Online website

The title of this post has been edited from the original:  Can automatic discounts be used on the online store?

 

When I create automatic discounts, such as quantity or amount discounts, they work perfectly well on my point of sale but do not work on my online store.

Can anyone help me?

I appreciate all your patience while we work to get this feature implemented. The beta testing for this feature has currently been delayed. Our team is working very hard on the backend to resolve some roadblocks that have prevented this from going. If you would still like to join the Beta for this request you can certainly still do so. Currently, the Online Store doesn't support Buy-one-get-one coupons. However, you can assign standard discounts to certain categories. From the site editor,  visit Items > Coupons > Add Coupon. You'll find an option to choose eligible categories under Discount Details at the bottom of the page.

We need the in-store discounts to have the option to apply to our online discounts rather than just coupons alone. Our online store is the same as our store front and when customers buy over a certain amount of specific products, there is a discount but in order to get the amount (basically a wholesale) we need to know that they are coming ahead which would make online ordering perfect. Coupons are incapable of being set-up the same way that discounts are and customers are irritated by this. When they order the specific amount and the expected discount is applied, i have to refund them at the store and cash them back out. That is extremely inconvenient. For the amount we pay for square, its unable to work well for our business and we would really appreciate these changes.

I just don't get why Square keep tinkering around with restaurant/takeaway features but ignore the fundamental online e-commerce. Maybe we should all ask Elon Musk to rattle Jack Dorsey's cage and get this platform sorted too.... Over two years with no progress on this request is absolutely shameful!

I would like automatic discounts in the online store as well!! 99% of my business is through the online store, not in person sales. Some items I sell are buy X quantity and an automatic discount is applied, either by a percentage or a flat dollar amount. I don't want the customer to have to remember to enter a coupon code in order to get the discount. And, only one coupon code can be used per order so that's not helpful either!

@foxflameI agree 100% There are several features like this that just shouldn't be an issue. I'm about ready to look for another solution.

I'm not sure what to do here. I have been with square for going on a year now. I chose them for my website because it easily integrated with my POS that I use at local markets. I have just set up delivery for purchases on my online website, as not everyone can get to the markets all the time. At the markets I usually offer a deal like Buy 3 get one free. But I can't offer them the same price if they order online. That is really frustrating for me and disappointing for my customers. Furthermore, I have read over this thread, and they keep saying that they don't have that option "yet". But it's been two years! I'm wondering if they will ever get it. I have invested a lot of time into my website and I don't want to have to switch to another platform, but I will have to consider it if they don't make changes soon. This thread, with it's 22 pages of complaints for one simple issue, doesn't look good for the company and I can only imagine how much business they've lost over it. 😞

We could have this solved in a week. Once it was on his radar.

Discounting in-store and online makes a lot of sense. However, only if keeping the ability to separate them as well. We often run in-store discounts unavailable to our online/app customers. And occasionally we run online promotions that are not available to in-store customers. 

This feature is on the top of my list of things that are needed to make POS/Retail/Online a cohesive product.  The existing POS discounts/group discounts is acceptable, but enabling full price lists that can customized based on customer group or sale dates would be ideal.
