I wish there was a way to disable the promotion code option when a customer goes to order a gift card. Gift cards should not be discounted. Is there a way around this already? If not, this should be an optional feature.
Can you elaborate a bit more? How are you creating your coupons for Square Online? You should have the option to specify what items or categories the coupon could be applied to.
I actually share the same concern and wish as @Aklinger02. Below is a screenshot of what a client sees if we send them an email link to the "webpage" where they can directly buy an eGiftcard -- there is a small blue link telling clients to "ADD PROMO CODE"...see magenta arrow below:
When you click on the BLUE LINK -- it opens up to the box below:
By having that BLUE prompt on the BUY GIFT CARD page, it makes people think that there SHOULD be a discount code out there somewhere -- and they need to google to find it...or call the store to find out how to get it. And, it provokes BAD will when we tell clients that it does not exist. They feel cheated out of a discount.
I would love it if SQ would make that BLUE LINK a toggle switch that you can turn on/turn off so that it does NOT exist on my gift card page at all unless I want it there.
