Category Images distorted

When I add a category image is it distorted. It is blown up to where only the middle of the image is displayed. I tried changing the size and the pixel size and no matter what I change it to, it is still the same just clearer or blurrier, but only the middle of the image. Any help would be greatly appreciated. FYI - these are not item images, these are category images.Adding category imagelooks good on category listnot good website category image

The same rules that apply to Square Online item images apply to category images as well.

If you've already amended the image size to ensure it's 25 MB or less, and the pixels on the longest side don't exceed 1000 pixels, the next thing we can try is looking at your Item Preferences.

Image ratio is most prominent on the ordering and category pages where images are displayed side by side. 

To choose or edit your aspect ratio for all of your Square Online item and category images:
 

1. From your Square Online Overview page, go to Items > Item Preferences or Shared Settings > Item Preferences.
2. Under Layout, select Edit and choose your item image ratio.
3. Select Save when finished.

You might need to test a few different aspect ratios to find one that best accommodates your chosen images.
