Can I make an item available for pick up pm a certain date?

I'm the manager of  Bakery and we are tying to setup online ordering for pie ordering for Thanksgiving. Our pie pickup day is November 25 from 7am-2pm. Customers that place a special order can come anytime between the hours of 7-2 on that day to get their orders. Is there a way to bypass the prep time on the online store?

Thanks for posting, @Nicololo It's not currently possible to assign a specific date for pickup, but it is something our teams are working on. 🙂 We do not have an eta to provide at this time, but we may have a work-around that might help.

 

Some of our users are creating a flat-rate shipping option for $0 and setting the title of the rule to i.e. "Pickup 11/25 7am-2pm". You would need to create a second set of items with shipping only fulfillment (it may help to also create a special category with these items) so that the special shipping "pickup" option shows at checkout.

 

Do you think this is something that would work for your site? Are you only setting up pies for Thanksgiving pickup, or are you also selling other items on your site that do not require a specific pickup date?

Thank you for the info. I think this option could work for us. We are not currently selling any other items online.

 

I added the flat-rate shipping option and changed all of the pies to shipping and not they are not showing up when I publish the site. The entire pie category is just gone. Is there something else I need to change? I turned off delivery and pickup options on the account.

Hi again. 🙂 You can actually leave the pickup and delivery option enabled for your other items that do not need a specific date/time for pickup. Did you just change the fulfillment option for the pies, or did you create brand new items? Please make sure to double check the items are set to "available" by clicking on the Items Overview page. If you are still having trouble with the items showing you can reach out to our support team here. A rep can go over your store settings with you and walk through a test order. 🙂

Jumping in on this thread as I was having the same issues and set up my items per the "shipping" feature you provided.  The issue I have now is that when the order is ready and prepped for what would be "pick-up" now states, "your order has shipped" when the customer receives the email. It is going to create more confusion  because there's no way to modify the verbiage other than in the actual body of the email. 

 

I hope that makes sense and you can help me clear up.  This process is so frustrating and has never been easy.

This is still a problem a year later.  Now customers have the ability to select their own pickup date and then we have to go in and edit their order to the correct day and time frame.  We need the ability to select the date and time frame on that specific date that their orders are to be picked up.  That's the fix we need.  Please.

This is something I tried this week and seemed to work for the specific pick up days/time for 2 sale items I had:

Online>Fulfillment>Pickup & Delivery>Edit ‘location’>Order timing

 

>Enter the pickup hours for the days

>Restricted dates: I entered the dates that I wasn’t fulfilling pickups

 

It seems a little backwards but it actually worked as I hoped. When the customer placed their order, only the available pickup dates/time came up

 

I also left Fulfillment in each item to default so there was no extra confusion there.
