Add to cart not working in online store

I've created a bunch of items for my online store and having both "out of stock" issues (even though I haven't set a stock qty. I tried re-adding the items as different item types and now there is a "There was an error. Please try again." error when a user tries to add to cart. HELP!

Hello @atriumadmin !

 

I have a couple of ideas for you:

 

First, make sure that all your item's fulfillment types match what you have configured for your site. As an example, if you have an item that has shipping enabled but your site does not offer shipping, a lot of weird things can happen. Please check Dashboard -> Account & Settings -> Fulfillment and Dashboard -> Online -> Settings (or shared settings) -> Fulfillment to verify your site's base settings then each item you have for sale to make sure they all match.

 

The other thing does have to do with item type, which it sounds like you started to bang on. Recently I've seen times where if an item is set as Prepared Food and Beverage but you're using the "Shop All" template (the default for Retail online stores), it throws the "something went wrong" error. Be sure all your items have the right item type on them to prevent oddities.

 

After that, I agree with @JK_Fiber_Art : please drop your website address here so we can dig into it a little deeper. It'll be only from an end user standpoint--we don't have access to the back end of anyone's website in a public forum--but we can definitely take a look.

It would be helpful is you would share the URL to your site so others here can take a look.  Please understand that volunteers here are not the same as Tech or Customer Support - we don't have the ability to look at what settings you have or have not enabled however, we can sometimes take a good guess if we can actually reproduce what you are experiencing.   We can't always fix some of these issues so you may have to follow-up by contacting Support.  (Hopefully someone here may be able to offer some thoughts.)
