Is there a way to limit the use of a coupon by a customer ie one use per unique customer. I remember on WP that they has a system where the use of the coupon was restricted to one per email address. This system is not fool proof but at the moment customer can use the same coupon multiple time which defeats the object of a welcome back incentive and just cost us a lot of money in discounts. A single use unique barcode/number generated for the customer would be ideal. Many thanks

Hey @phillipsrw, thanks for sharing this suggestion! At the moment, there isn't a clean way to limit it so customer can only use the coupon once. The only way I can think of to achieve this is by reducing the number of coupons available to 1.
I did come across a project our team are working on to roll out the ability to issue single-use coupon. It looks like there are still a number of tasks that need to be complete before it's rolled out, so I'll definitely keep a close out on this.

In a similar vein, it would be good if this drop-down offered another option to only allow discount coupons to be used on non-sale items - i.e. so customers couldn't use a 20% off coupon on an item that's already on sale for 25% off

I'd like to second this! Having the option to only include items without a sale price would make dealing with discounts and sale items much easier!
