We have noticed on our Square Online website that an unwanted e-gift card link keeps appearing on the header navigation link. We have deleted this link several times, then poof, overnight it magically reappears? Its a little messy looking as we now have two links on the navigation bar for gift cards (the one we one which is a page showing both physical and e-gift cards, the other which we don't want is a link direct to e-gift cards). Any ideas what's happening? 🙄

@Breffni just to say @doc_choc isn't the only one to have suffered this. Mine has been fine for months (touch wood.....) but also had the same issue where the gift card link would keep coming back, seemingly between the site being republished (ie. not a bug where the toggle turned itself back on then I republished, but totally in the background).

Thanks @Sam_400º , I hadn't heard of this, that I can remember anyway.
I had looked but I'm not seeing any similar tickets created to investigate it, but I can file one since it seems to be a recurring issue.
@doc_choc, I've found your site but I wanted to check first - I see two links: Physical Gift Card and Email Gift Card
Have you made any edits today? If you have screenshots of what we don't want, that would be great or just let me know. Thanks!

Hi there, thanks @Sam_400º I thought I was going crazy there for a moment.
@Breffni what you show in you image is what we want to see ie a link on the navigation that takes you to a page that shows both the options for physical and e gift cards.
However, another link appears on the navigation bar which links direct to the external Square page for e-gift cards. 10am today we deleted the additional link, so until it reappears we can't screenshot. Not sure what actions in the backend causes this to happen (not able to pinpoint yet) but what we find is the link reappears the next day...probably won't happen now lol.
As soon as it reappears I'll screenshot for you. 👍

Hey @doc_choc, just stepping in for Alegra. Thanks for that information.
If it reappears again, do make sure to send over a screenshot and a link to where the issue appears. We'd have to be able to replicate it on our end in order to escalate this to our specialists to have another look.

It's been close to 2 years and I'm still having this issue, even after multiple conversations with Square's customer service team spanning many, many hours. This is either a much larger issue than Square wants to admit or incredibly insidious behavior on their part.
Every time I've contacted them I've done exactly what they suggest (make sure the edit is saved and clear the older cached versions of the site), then I wait around while they pass me off to someone else, who makes me re-explain the entire problem (this part usually happens 2 or 3 times). Then they tell me everything is fine and it was just a bug, only for that annoying gift card button to pop back up a few days or weeks later.
We already have a gift card button under our Shop tab. We've sold quite a few gift cards so people clearly have no trouble finding it there. We don't need a second button, especially since every time it appears it creates too many menu items and shoves itself and the Shop button into a "more" button with a dropdown menu. Which just puts it right next to the gift card button we already have AND makes the Shop button harder to find.

Sorry if this is obvious but have you checked going to Dashboard / Online / Items / Gift Cards and untick the option to add to navigation if it is ticked.
