How to use item file on Square Online

Hi. I have some issues with Square Online and setting up the online store for customers to order food for pick up. I already have Self-Serve for in-house table ordering which works fine. So...

 

In Online > Items > Site Items - there is my list of items as per my Square item file

In Online > Site Categories - I have my categories set up and the above list of items is assigned to the relevant category

 

Should be job done, but...

 

In Online > Website > Edit Site > (Page: Order Online) > Item List - it just says "create your first item"

 

Now, surely, I do not need to go through and add each item manually to this list if they're already on Square just to sell them online? The faff needed to do this for each item is enormous! 

 

Please someone tell me there's an easy way!

So this is a tiny quirk with the self-serve ordering. When self-serve ordering is the only fulfilment method select for an item, when you go to edit the website in Online > Website > Edit Site > Page: Order Online, it can look like there is no items available.

 

To correct this, what you can do is bulk edit the items and apply an additional fulfilment method — either pickup or delivery. You should see the full list of items when going into Edit Site afterwards and can rearrange the menu as you need. As long as pickup or delivery isn't enabled in the back-end, it won't shot up as an option for customers to choose. However, once you're satisfied with how your menu look and publish the site, you can also bulk edit the items again to remove this fulfilment method.
