Automated campaign for customers after first visit doesn't work for square appointments

I've been a longtime customer of square appointments, POS, and marketing. Suddenly square marketing automated campaigns for customers after their first visit doesn't work in regards to square appointments. WHY WHY WHY would sqaure change this? I was told in order for it to generate a 'thanks for your first visit' email, customers would need to prepay in full the day they book an appointment. I'm not doing that. And that also doesn't make sense since a customer scheduling an appt and prepaying...hasn't actually been IN for the appt yet so a 'thanks for visiting' makes no sense! This auto campaign worked beautifully for years, why now exclude most of us using square appointments (mind you, now paying for the service). It seems now I'm paying for more and more features with square, they no longer work as the used to, yet I pay more for them.

We just set this up funnily enough a few weeks ago and have noticed none have been sent. Maybe this is why!

I had to export all of our customers and set their profile to accept marketing emails (not sure why it didn't have this already), and when I re-imported, I noticed the dates went a bit whack. For example we also have a 'we haven't seen you for a while' auto email, which also hasn't sent. But it's saying there are no customers in the category we've specified (ie who haven't been back in 3 months or more). I figured this was the reason the new customer email also wasn't working, but maybe not!

I’m also having that exact same issue. Overall, none of the “automated” campaigns work. This was the main reason I signed up for the marketing….because the auto campaigns were effortless and always resulted in more appts booked. Now it seems I’m paying $15/mo to send my own newsletters. I stopped my marketing and I’m looking into another company. Too bad. Square used to be great.

Ok, I just submitted a question related to this. So I'm not crazy and it used to work! Now im trying to utilize my receipt marketing why including a link to get them to a page with the necessary info on it. Crazy we have to do this in the first place!
