Capital Additional Information: Why weren't the documents I provided confirmed?
The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Capital Additional Information
I was offered a loan and was asked to provide a document and one on the list is a business license. I sent the business license and received this email..
We weren’t able to confirm your application details with the information you sent us.
Common reasons for this include:
Bank statements and proof of payment are outdated
Invoices or service contracts are incorrect
Documentation is illegible
The license is not outdated and is eligible cause that's what one of the thing they said I can show. Confused why Square weren't able to confirm it if I've been with them for 6 years.

I'm not from Square, but a few possibilities come to mind:
First, they didn't say your business license was expired. They said the bank statements or proof of payment you provided might have been too old for them to use as reasonable proof of your revenue.
Second, they did not say the document was "ineligible" as in not eligible or appropriate. They said it was illegible, as in they couldn't read it. Like maybe it was a poor resolution scan, or was smudged, or was handwritten in an unclear script.
And another possibility is confusion between a business license and a sales tax license. Not every type of business needs a license. It depends on your type of business and what state you're in. When I applied for my first Square Capital loan they kept wanting to see my business license, but I just had to explain to them that my state doesn't require a license for my industry and there wasn't a problem.
Anyway I have no idea if any of these are the cause of the problem. Just some guesses. Good luck.
Thank you @DaoDeJing!
