Invoices auto generated by a subscription all of a sudden started generating long random IDs

All of the invoices in our account are currently auto generated from subscriptions. The invoices prior to 3/25/2024 have the auto generated ID #000012, 000011, etc. There were 3 new invoices created from subscriptions after 3/25 (4/18 and 4/19) and their ID's are some really long arbitrary number with the date at the end. For example: 2c35e9c8-b40e-4c04-95c4-527a15495193_20240418

 

If I try to create a new invoice, from the subscriptions page, it auto assigns the next invoice # as 000013. So this makes me think that the problem is with the subscription invoicing and it seems to have been introduced just recently.

 

These really long invoice #'s look really bad in client's e-mail receipts. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

As I see this is your first post I would like to welcome you to the sellers community forum.

 

The invoice for the subscription was it generated from online?  This seems like a long online invoice number to identify the transaction.  Shorter invoice numbers #000015, would be as easy to identify which business had these same numbers.  But I do agree that the actual number on the invoice should be in sequence of your invoices and not the random Transaction or Payment number Square would need to ID this Subcription invoice.
