How do I add a task inside of Square Projects?

Hi! I see there is an area in Square Projects for tasks, but I don't know how to add a task. Any ideas?

Hi @Rachelcamp.  I’ve not used Projects yet.  But after reviewing the help documentation for it, I think it might be misnamed.  Like you, I first thought that it was something akin to a project management tool to help us keep track of things like employee onboarding tasks and such.  I can tell you with 99% certainty that this is NOT the case.

 

My first clue was that it is a subset of Square Invoicing.  Once I realized that, I realized that Projects is really nothing except a container to organize estimates, invoices, contracts and other files/attachments — think drawings, etc.  Once I realized that, I realized that since that is the focus of Projects, then the tasks area seems to be automatically filled with invoices coming due, or overdue, etc.

 

I’m sure Square will read this reply, so I’m going to strongly suggest that they a) rename it from Projects to something else, b) OR that they greatly expand on the help, add videos, etc, to tell sellers what this is really intended to do, c) that they definitely add some help text about what the tasks box is doing.  I have to say that the help articles on this are some of the worst I’ve seen.  I’ve read everything I can find and honestly I still have no clue what Projects is, what it adds to invoicing, and why they call it Projects.

 

That’s my un-asked for two cents!
