Disable Sales Tax

I use invoices to collect payment for services.  There is no sales tax in my state for the service I provide.

Square shows my business account as 73 percent setup because I have not set up my Sales Tax.

I do not want Square to add sales tax to my invoices.

I don't have the option to deactivate Sales Tax when I pull up my settings and account.

If I "set up" Sales Tax, will I then have the opportunity to deactivate it? That seems to make sense, I just don't want to set up Sales Tax, and then screw up my invoices, which have been working well for 7 years.

Hey @buildstrong  Your post illustrates the very reason that I hate, I detest, I loathe account setup progress meters, at least ones that don’t allow us to say “get out of my face, I know what I’m doing!” Ha.  Anyway, you’ll be fine.  Since sales taxes are always changing somewhere, Square gives us the ability to delete ones we don’t need anymore, as well as to disable them temporarily if we want.  It’s all under our control from our online dashboard > Account & Settings > Business Information > Sales Taxes.  So, when you aren’t open go ahead and go through the setup process and get rid of that annoying setup progress meter.  Then head to settings and make it all go away.
