Customer Generated Estimate / Quote in Real-time

Allowing Square Users to create an easily accessible Estimate / Quote page where customers can view and create their own estimates for an order.

The way Estimates currently work is that a Square user has to manually create an estimate for a customer. It does the job when working with customers directly, but it's hard to keep up with creating multiple estimates for multiple customers with different requests.

Having customers create their own estimates would speed up the order taking process, and allow customers to access the page at any time without having to talk in-person or over the phone with a Square user.

A Square user could be able to create a Template for specific Estimates, like displaying certain items and information. It would be nice to have the option to build a form within the estimate for necessary information to place an order.
Example:

  • Multiple Choice Box #1 = "Front Print" Yes or No Options
    • If yes, a custom description box appears to get further details
      • ex. "Size of Print"


For our business we operate as a clothing store that offers custom printing, so we would create an Estimates Template for the blank garments we want to offer, and the printing options available.
The customer would only be able to choose from the items available in the template posted.

We can use Square Messaging to email/text customers a link for them to create and view a real-time quote for an order.
Another option would be to have a link similar to Square Gift Cards that can be posted on a website that customers simply click to access. That link could also be converted into a QR code for customers to scan to access the Customer Estimate page.

Once a customer is satisfied with their potential order, it will ask for their personal information (Name, Phone Number, Email, etc.). A Square user will have the option of setting which information boxes are required to process the Estimate.
Additional information could be date and time a customer needs the order by.
The Customer Generated Estimate should have a "Accept Terms & Conditions" check box, as well as a digital signature option for a customer to fill before submitting the Estimate.
Square users would have the option to type in their own Terms & Conditions. 

A Square user could set up the option to auto approve the estimates, or to have a approval wait time. The Square user can then review the Customer Generated Estimate, and give notes, make adjustments for either the items or dates, and send it back to the Customer for approval. The Estimates can also be denied by the Square User.

It can be sent back to the customers as a pending Invoice or Estimate.

The customer would then have the option of requesting changes, adding additional notes, adding additional items, denying the estimate, or approving the estimate.

If it's approved by the customer, they can then submit their payment method. The Square user would receive a paid invoice, and all of the associated items in the Customer Generated Estimate would be taken out of the Square users inventory. 

The Customer Generated Estimate would then appear in the Invoices tab

If this isn't feasible through the Estimates/Invoices system, then a Square Form Builder would work great as well.

TL;DR = A shareable webpage where a Customer can access the link create an Estimate in real time using only items made available by the Square User.
The estimate can be approved, denied, or marked with notes/updates. Once the estimate is approved and paid for by the customer, the estimate appears in the Square Users Invoices tab.

It would be a good thing to have to improve the Customer Experience, and to smooth out Business operations for the Square user.
