Charge Payment Method on File in new invoice template

When using the new invoice format in Square I notice that the information clients had put on file that allowed me to change a credit card does not transfer to the new invoice format. To debit the client's card I have to revert to the old format first. Is this a known issue or is there some work-around that I just am missing.

Hey there,

It sounds like you're encountering a hiccup with the new invoice format not carrying over your clients' saved card information, which is definitely frustrating. While I’m not sure if this is a widespread issue, here’s a potential workaround to help:

  1. Check Payment Settings: Make sure the new invoice format is set to allow stored cards as a payment option. You can check this by going to Invoices > Settings and verifying that the “Allow clients to save a card on file” option is enabled.

  2. Revert Temporarily: Since reverting to the old format works for you, that’s a valid short-term fix until Square addresses this issue. You could continue using the old format for clients with saved cards, and the new format for others.

  3. Contact Support: It might be worth reaching out to Square Support to see if they’re aware of this issue or if a fix is on the way. They could also provide additional troubleshooting tips or update you if this is something they’re actively working on.

Hopefully, one of these options will help get things running smoothly until this is sorted out! 🙂

Thanks for the reply. The invoice settings do allow clients to save a card on file, so that's not the issue. As you say - likely a hiccup with the new format. I will inform Support and hope for the best and use the old format for those customers who have c card on file. Thanks again!
