Square Register Support of 58mm Sticky Labels

Please update Square Register to allow cafes and coffee shops to use 58mm sticky label paper rolls on the Star TSP654IISK Sticky Label Printer

The Square iOS app on Apple phones/tablets allows us to change the paper size from 80mm to 58mm.  However, Square Register has no such feature which seems very odd considering it is (or at least appears to be) your flagship product.

80mm size sticky labels are too large to fit on standard-sized cups (8, 10, 12, and 16oz) and barely fit on 20oz.  58mm paper scales the font just right and the labels are able to fit on all sizes of cups very nicely

I've already done things like remove the margin at the top of the ticket and reduce name length to the best of my ability - but I also shouldn't have to "hack" my way around a product (and a software) that advertises its ability to accommodate 58mm paper.  The issue of tickets being too large is exacerbated by the additional information printed on the ticket when it's an online order (or worse - an online order for delivery and it has all the DoorDash pickup time info on it) - I can't even wrap the ticket around the cup sideways as it starts to overlap on some of the smaller sized cups

If the option to select between 80mm and 58mm sticky paper is ALREADY an option for the iOS square app, I'm just confused why it isn't an option on your other hardware like Square Register.  Is there a way to get this option rolled out to Square Registers?

Still no solution to this? I have tried everything to make the smaller label sizes work with my square register. I have a coffee shop and the 80mm labels are way too big. The smaller labels work on my iPad. Why not on the $800 device I bought from you. I wouldn't have bought the register and printer if I would have known it only printed the large size.

Wow! Still no update for such a simple and logical fix. It's been a year and a half and not even an acknowledgment from Square. Customers don't even take me seriously anymore when they see 80mm labels one a 12oz cup and my employees are embarrassed to serve drinks. No swag.

I did talk to a customer service person who said this might be rolled out as a beta option in the next two weeks. Not sure why it is so complicated when it exists in the programming already, but let’s hope something this simple can be fixed. We literally had a mockingly bad Yelp review last month because of the 80mm sticky label on our 8oz cup.

@CofCo thats great to hear! Fingers crossed that it actually happens. Wish we could get a Mod on here to confirm that or at least let us know when the beta opens up so we can start testing it ASAP

I see the option in the printer settings to change the paper size.  It has a warning that it could damage the printer, but it doesn't format it to fit the 58mm.

@SteveJ are you on the Square Register or Square Stand?  I am still not seeing the option on the Square Register.

@CofCo We are using the Square Stand.  The register was to glitchy.
