Can you mark a Square contract as signed when a customer signs the PDF?

I have a question about Contracts. Some of my clients have been printing, signing, and scanning the PDF version of their contract, rather than signing electronically. Then they get a bunch of automated emails reminding them to sign their contract, even though I already have a physical copy on file.

 

Is there a way to eliminate the PDF feature, so that they are forced to sign electronically? If that's not a solution, is there a way to mark a contract as signed? I know you can cancel a contract, but when my clients get notified that it was cancelled, they are worried that I'm cancelling their completed PDF contract as well.

In the meantime, I can suggest that you state in your contracts that they require an electronic signature.

Hi there!

 

I was wondering if there has been any update on this. It adds unnecessary complications to our record management having to separately track hard-copy vs electronically signed contracts. This feature is already effectively implemented with invoices (marking as paid via check or cash), so it only makes sense to add one of the functionalities recommended above. Could you please let us know if these options have been considered, and when they might be implemented? Thank you.

Hi,

 

We have the same request. 

 

It isn't possible to do the suggested workaround by JJ because Square automatically adds language to the contract that says it can be signed digitally or via hard copy.

When a contract is in the "Downloaded" state, a button appears on the Square Register to "Mark as Signed". However, when the contract is in the "Emailed" state, that button does not appear. It would appear Square's software already has the functionality to mark a contract as signed, it is just locked down to particular instances. 

 

This feature request is particularly important for us because we utilize Invoices Plus and the option to prevent payment on invoices without the contract being signed. If someone comes in person, we would like to be able to just mark it signed on the Square Register and take their payment.  

 

I do not see an ideate section for Contracts, what ideate forum would this request fall under?
