I switched my business from Calendly to Square Appointments because of the great integration with Square Contracts. The massive problem is that Square Appointments does not support reminders for team members, they only have reminders for the client. On top of this, if you want any sort of actual calendar integration, you have to pay an absurd $29/month.
It is very easy to forget someone made a Square Appointment. Square doesn’t offer any sort of reminders for team members (the business) or free calendar integration. Square either needs to add reminders for businesses or allow calendar integration for free. $29 just to remember a client booked is unjustifiable for an application whose sole purpose is to efficiently conduct appointments.
Secondly, Square does not allow you to create mandatory questions that a client must answer before booking an appointment. There is a single non-customizable text box which is only good for clients to leave a message if they feel like doing so. The ability to add custom questions has been a request for years with no movement on Square’s part. What is the hold up here? This seems like a very simple addition.
These are massive pitfalls when considering Calendly integrates with Google Calendars for free AND allows you to create a series of mandatory questions for free. The only reason I haven’t switched back yet is because of Square Contracts… might be worth leaving if nothing changes soon.
