Booking Appointments online through Social Media is a great way to increase sales, grow your business, and feature your services online. Integrating your Square Appointments online booking site with your Instagram business account or Facebook business page makes it easier for customers to discover and book with you. Another great option is using Reserve with Google with Square Appointments so that customers can use Google Search, Google Maps, and the Reserve with Google site to book quickly and easily with your business. Read the options below to learn how to get started with social booking.
To start receiving bookings through Instagram, first you will need to have an Instagram business profile and make sure your Square Appointments online booking site is turned on.
To create a business profile:
- Open your Instagram mobile app and tap Settings.
- Select Switch to Business Profile.
- On the Set Up Your Business Profile page, review your business’s contact information, make any changes and tap Done.
Once you have your business profile, follow these steps to receive bookings:
- Go to your business profile on your Instagram app and tap Edit Profile.
- Under Business Information, select Contact Options.
- Tap Add an Action and select Appointments by Square.
- Sign in to your Square account using your email address, and password > Continue.
- Add your Square Appointments online booking site URL.
- Refresh your profile page to see your new Book Now button.

With a Facebook business page you can receive bookings directly to Square Appointments. You will need a Facebook business page and your Square Appointments online booking site enabled. Once you are all set up, new bookings will sync with Square Appointments.
To create a Facebook Business page:
- Create a Facebook account or log in to your existing account at Facebook.com.
- Navigate to Settings and select Pages > Create a Page > choose your business type > Get Started.
- Fill out the required business information, choose your images, and customize your page.
Once you have your business profile, follow these steps to receive bookings:
- Go to your business page and click Add a Button.
- Select Book Now > Appointments for Square.
- Review the permissions and select Continue.
- Sign in with your Square account email address and password.
- Select your preferred business account to associate with your bookings.
- Review your button settings and tap Continue.
Once the button has been created, you can test your button:
- Click your button.
- Select Test Button.

Reserve with Google
To allow your customers to book appointments using Google Search, Google Maps, and the Reserve with Google site, you’ll need to activate Reserve with Google directly from your Square Appointments Dashboard.
To do so:
- Navigate to the Appointments section of your online Square Dashboard and select Online Booking > Channels.
- Next to Reserve with Google > click Get Started.
- Claim your business on Google if you haven’t already.
- Verify that your Google business address matches your address listed on Square Appointments.
- Select Request Activation > Confirm Request to send your request to Google.
If after 72 hours, you don’t see the option to book an appointment for your business on Google, check your physical address and Google’s business restrictions. Please note: To be able to use Reserve with Google you must be an owner or tenant of your physical place of business. Unfortunately, booth or room renters do not qualify. We love using social media to book our appointments. They come from Instagram...but what I really like is that when you look at the appointment book Square tells you where the person book you from. This information helps out tremendously for advertising and marketing new products! I also like that it tells us that they are making bookings through the "Square App" as well. I'll make sure we're set up for Facebook bookings. Now we haven't enabled the the Google booking because new clients are not asked to secure their appointment with a credit card (I think). I'll check and see if this feature has been added or not. This helps us with last minute cancellations.
Is there someone within Square that can help us link or google map page? We have one that's existing.. but when we go to link it... it takes us to a new map page which we don't want to do.. obviously.
