Discount Codes to be used when booking an appointment online

I'd like to offer a special for clients for booking online, but there is no option for them to enter in a discount code when booking their appointment. This would be an essential asset to business marketing, promotions and bookings. It's important to have pre-paid booking options, but if i want to offer a discount, there doesn't seem to be any way to do this

Discounts, Gift cards, and payment options for services

Talking with a rep yesterday I learned that the services (which I use for my healthcare practice linked to my online appointments via desktop), does not have the option for coupons, gift cards, or payment options like Afterpay.

I was trying so hard to figure it out because I could see the coupon I generated for "items" and on the square app (for manually entered appointments).

Please work on including these much needed features!! thank you.

WOW, finding this thread really opened my eyes on how LONG this feature has been requested and Square done nothing... more than 4 years... 

Not only discount coupons are essential for appointments but also there is no option for gift cards which are also sold by Square Online... but can't be used on Appointments? Doesn't make any sense right?

 

We sell skateboarding lessons, and a lot of people want to give them as gift cards for Christmas and Birthday, but they can't use the option to book online like everyone else, they need to call us and we have to block the slot with no payment, hoping they will show up to be able to charge the gift card or apply a discount in person when they arrive. 

 

I am tired of waiting for this to change... the recent new updates in Square have been so useless, at least for my business, and this essential feature still missing... I feel like the only solution is to look into moving to another software...

While it is possible to apply a discount to a service when charging a client in-person for a service using the Square Point of Sale app, it's currently not possible for your clients to use a discount or coupon code when booking an appointment using your Appointments booking site - this is being tracked as a feature request at this time.

Currently there isn't a way for your customers to use coupons or promo codes for Appointments booked from your online Appointments booking site. We're tracking this feature request! 

 

In the meantime if you use Square Marketing to send customers coupons you can apply those coupons at checkout from Appointments app. (And you can create a discount and apply that at checkout when your client arrives for their appointment.)

There isn't a way to offer a discount to customers when they book through Square Appointments. There is a work around for customers that pay at the time of the booking. See @Chad's recommendation above.

Another option would be to manually reprice your services for the two-day period. This would allow your customers to book appointments at the discounted price (just remember to restore your regular pricing after the sale). 

I know that neither of these are quite what you are looking for, I'll be sure to let our Product Team know that you are looking for a way to offer a sale or discounts through your Square Appointments booking site. 👍

This is an issue I am having as well. I am a photographer running a real estate media business at www.shutterzonemedia.com  and I would like to know how I can add promo codes to Square Appointments when customers are checking out because Id like to offer the ability for them to add their own discounts when checking out if theyve earned them OR for when i want to do a promotional week, etc.  

 

I love everything else Square is doing, however if they would just integrate their ONLINE STORE with their SQUARE APPOINTMENTS... things would be perfect!

Hey @CaseyJones, thanks for chiming in! Right now, the ability for your customers to add a promo code to Square Appointments isn't available. Are you able to meet your customers face-to-face? If so, you could apply a discount at the time of the sale as a workaround using the Appointments > Point of Sale checkout feature.

Just gonna throw in my support for this request. Right now we have to have the customer pre-pay, and then come in with the gift card to apply the discount. For some customers, this just isn't a possibility with some prices, and though they can get a Third-party VISA card... well, the point of a gift card is assuring the purchase of our product in a streamlined, user-friendly process.

 

I appreciate your attention to community here, but I really hope you consider adding this soon. It just seems like a necessity for any checkout process.

 

I know it's not simple, but I'd be happy with a manual solution, where I type in/generate the promo code, and then the appointment just checks if the code they entered exists in that table.

I would also very much like to see this feature.  I am a massage therapist and would like to offer special discount codes to certain clients that they can use to book services at a discounted rate.  

 

It's very important to me that they see the discount applied at the time of booking, not just at checkout.

Thanks for your post @acro_adam and for letting us know it's important for clients to see the discount applied when they make their appointment. I'll add your vote for this feature! If we have any updates we'll let you know in this thread.

I'm new, just in the process of creating my account and find this is so disappointing.  I am a Feldenkrais therapist who requires pre-payment in full and would like to offer a discount (for example, buy 5, get one free) for purchasing a certain number of sessions.  I do not want to do any transactions in person. 

Is there any way I could offer them a coupon code, even via email, that would allow them to book the last session at no charge?  Or could I use the rewards to do this?

Hi @mindbody - Have you thought about offering different items with different prices?

 

This would include offering a single session at your fixed rate and another item, say a 5 pack of sessions, for your discounted rate. Your client would then pay the appropriate price (and have a discount depending on which item was selected) prior to the session. Does this make sense? 

Hey Everyone - I had to abandon Square Appointments because they don't have the flexibility with discount codes, packages, etc.  necessary for my massage business. 

 

The good news is that I was able to set up my booking through Acuity Scheduling that integrates seamlessly Square Payments!  Acuity has many more features for scheduling than Square currently offers - and for a much lower monthly price than Square appointments!

 

I would have been very happy to have everything done with Square appointments, but it's too bad that they have had this feature request for so long and have not been able to respond to the common needs of bodyworkers and massage therapists.  

So did I. I definitely prefer the Square interface but they don't really seem interested in catering to the online-only businesses.
