I run a business that offers a service for customers to attend, with 99% of the bookings being multiple people. This service is the only service we offer, with multiple sessions through the day, every day of the week. I was happy to see Square Appointments added the class feature, but there does not seem to be the ability for one person to reserve space for multiple people. If they wanted to reserve spots for themselves + friends/family, they have to make a booking for each person individually, which is not user-friendly whatsoever.
Am I understanding correctly that this feature has not been implemented? Is there a workaround, or is this feature going to be implemented soon? The only thing I would need, is a dropdown for participants/group size on the bookings page.
This discovery was very disappointing, as I cannot use Square Appointments for my use-case without this feature.

I am looking into setting up Appointments for my business too. Since this Class Feature, I was thinking of having a candle making class. The class would be 1 day a week to start but as @TheWaxArtist, people that call me about our current candle making experience book for a family of 4 or more or for a group that is on vacation ... less than that can do walk-ins. The other thing I was wondering with the Appointments is there a way to set the maximum class size, and show that there are X amount of seats left for the next class etc? Sorry if this is somewhere I missed as I am just starting my research into appointments to start classes in the beginning of 2024.

Great questions!
Yes, you're able to set the class capacity when creating your class booking. Additionally, customers booking online for your class will notice a message below the cost of the class, indicating the number of remaining spots available for that specific class.
I've attached a screenshot to give you an idea of what your customers will see.

Yes that shows that I can set class capacity, but before I can proceed with this I would need the ability that one person could by seats for the class for 4 people with one transaction would that also be possible?

I offer camps and classes at my equine facility and I often have parents who would like to send more than 1 child. I currently have these set up as classes through Square Appointments. Is there a way they can purchase more than 1 spot in one class? Thanks!

Currently, it isn't possible to book more than one person on a class booking, so I'd encourage you to add your feedback to this Feature Request. Our product teams look at these threads often. Square makes updates often as well so hopefully soon the Appointment software will have features you are wanting to see.

We need the ability for customers to buy more than one spot in a class. Its kind of obvious that if you introduce classes, people will want to book for friends! When will this be implemented???

The inability for one person to book classes for multiple people seems like a no-brainer to me. We are having the same problem and will likely be forced to switch how do offer classes.
We've run into this as well. Technically, someone can sign up someone else, but they need to use a different credit card, which is profoundly lame. I talked with customer service and they consider it a "feature" that they're considering. Seem extremely obvious that classes should have the ability to do so. Now, if I want to sign up my three kids to a painting class (which we offer), they'll need to borrow their neighbors credit card or call me at 11PM because "it's not working and I want to make sure they have a spot in the class". Need to look into other products if this isn't going to work. Love everything else about it though, so it will be disappointing if I need to change systems.

Reason I would like this is :
I am in a Vacation area and people do things as a small group of about 4 people. Why would each one have to pay and sign up when 1 persaon could pay for all 4 people. Think of it this way when 4 people are going on a flight, does each person buy their own ticket? I know when I book a flight its 1 credit card payment for all people in the group to stay together. This is 1 instructional class where 4 family members may all want the same class or a group of friends.
