We really need the ability to block certain clients from scheduling.  No just declining them. There are those finding ways around the decline by utilizing another email address etc. Thank you

This forum doesn't seem to work getting this feature to the proper channels. It for the customer to feel like they are getting some where but they are not. Maybe start to go to twitter and call them out because at this point Square has shown that they are NOT for solo practitioners and their safety! It has been YEARS of this now. YEARS!!! 35 pages of this request up to this point.  Look into GlossGenius for booking if you are a esthetician or massage therapist.

Agreed! This has been one of the features missing. I used to use an online booking system that allowed you to toggle or “turn off” booking ability for that client specifically. I typically don’t have an issue with clients booking online but when they are not a fit with my business anymore and can’t respect my time, it’s necessary. This is a feature that is needed, regardless of no show protection being in place.

Hi all 👋 Apologies for the delayed response here but I have returned with some insight from the Square Appointments Product Team! I'll share what they've told me below:

"We don’t have a specific feature for this yet but it’s on our roadmap this year. H
owever, many of our Appointments Sellers are already enrolled in Risk Manager, and can use the Risk Manager’s “Block payment cards” feature to block buyers from booking if the Seller has prepayment or no-show turned on. Unfortunately, there isn’t a good way to block clients from booking if the Seller doesn’t use prepayment or no-show, but this is on our radar for this year."

Nothing new to report on this at the moment, but it seems to be gaining more interest lately so hopefully we can figure out a way to help with situations like this. 

 

One workaround that you can use would be to switch the Reservation Guarantee in your Appointments Settings to "Business must accept or decline all appointment requests". 

 

This allows you to have more control over who actually books up time slots on your calendar.

Thanks for sharing this feedback. I can totally see where this feature would be useful for difficult clients and I'll share your feedback with the Appointments team. I've moved this to the Feature Request board where we can track this request.

There has GOT to be a way to ban a client.  There are peole out there mentally unwell harassing barbers.  I had this psycho book 400+ fake appointments in 3 days.  I need cannot deal with this non sence.  Please for the love of gawd enable a ban button for us to block this insanity.

Good morning @Masculinity , thanks for reaching I do understand your concern and need for this feature. I would definitely add your voice to the feature request so our Product Team can view this.  In the meantime, you can use Risk Manager to block them by email, IP address, and/or payment card from booking. You will have to use no-show protection or prepayment on your online booking site, but for now, that would be a workaround. It does look like something our team is looking into but no ETA on a feature like this being rolled out for now. Thank you so much for hanging in there! 

Thank you for your reply.  For the last 2 years, I have kept reading that Square is working on a bam option. 2 years is a long time.  Requiring our customers to book with a credit card is not an option, that looses clients, they will go elsewhere.   We have asked our clients.   How do I add my voice to the feature request?  Where is that link to do that?

I found this post that seems similar to yours when I searched the Ideate Board @Masculinity , you can add your insights there. I know it's hard waiting for something to be built so I greatly appreciate all your patience!  

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD ADD A BAN BUTTON!  I am being cyber stalked by an of hinged individual.   Over 500 fake appointments booked.  The putting a card kn file is not an option.  When he starts booking I need to block him. You don't seem to understand how insane this is and how important a ban button is so that I can do my job and not worry about this insanity.  This consumes hours to remove all the appointments as well as prevents my real clients from booking an appointment.   Our world is filled with mentally ill individuals. And we need protection.  PLEASE HELP AND GET A BAN BUTTON.  Can't be that hard to do.  Oylther platforms have it.

Please Square, Make this a priority!! This is a real struggle for some people. We should be able to Ban/Block one person without making the rest of our clients suffer... or ourselves (manually approving each).

NEED this feature! Need the ability to block people from booking. We are tired of having to cancel a client who was extremely inappropriate with one of my technicians.

I NEED this feature! Other competitors offer it I might need to switch if we cannot get this feature. I use the accept or decline feature but would like to have a ban feature or more options on who can book what for existing customers vs. new customers as my existing customers come first.

I have merged the original thread you posted on into our Ideate Board for Appointments. There was another seller that mentioned this Feature Request too. 

 

Adding your voice and the others on this thread, will show our Product Team how long sellers have been looking for the ability to block customers for your appointments. 

 

I’ve gone ahead and changed the status of this feature request to “Open”. As more information becomes available, a Community moderator will come in and change the status letting all of the subscribed sellers know. Thank you!
